Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 12, 2026
Dismantlr is inventory and listing software for parting out vehicles and other items — capturing parts, organizing inventory, and publishing listings to marketplaces like eBay. This policy explains what data the Dismantlr apps (web, iOS, Android, and the desktop Researcher) and service collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password, and the workspace (organization) you belong to. Authentication is handled by our provider Neon Auth.
- Business content you enter. The parts, projects, vehicles, inventory records, prices, invoices, and pick lists you create in the app, so we can provide the service.
- Photos and camera. With your permission, the mobile app uses your camera to scan QR/inventory codes and to photograph parts, and can attach images from your photo library to listings. Photos you attach are uploaded to our storage so they can appear on your listings. We do not access your camera or photo library for any other purpose.
- Connected marketplace accounts. If you connect an eBay account, we store an encrypted access token so we can publish and manage listings and sync orders on your behalf. You can disconnect it at any time in Settings, which revokes the token.
- Usage and diagnostic data. Standard server logs (such as IP address and request metadata) used to operate, secure, and debug the service.
How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Dismantlr service.
- To authenticate you and keep your workspace's data separated and secure.
- To publish and manage your marketplace listings and orders when you connect an account.
- To communicate with you about your account, including password resets and service notices.
- To protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats, and to comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
How your information is shared
We share data only with service providers that help us run Dismantlr, and only as needed to provide the service:
- Neon — database and authentication.
- Vercel — application hosting and photo/file storage.
- eBay — only when you connect your account, to publish listings and sync orders you authorize.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Dismantlr and its users.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete content or your account, we delete the associated data, except where we must retain it to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations, or to resolve disputes.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correct, or delete your data from within the app, or by contacting us.
- Disconnect a linked marketplace account at any time in Settings.
- Control camera and photo permissions through your device settings.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and marketplace tokens are encrypted at rest. Access to workspace data is enforced per-account at the database level. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.
Children
Dismantlr is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we'll provide notice within the app or by email.
